CLI Ondago documentation

Full command reference

Look up account, maintenance, and advanced commands, or jump to an everyday workflow.

Start with Everyday commands for the common session workflow. This index covers the public client CLI; internal app helpers and sandbox-only host commands are outside this guide. For complete flags and defaults, run ondago COMMAND -h.

Find a command#

View planned changes for Find a command. Availability depends on the released app and host versions.

ondago logout#

Forget the saved sign-in credential, active workspace, and machine session state. The device key remains on disk.

ondago logout

ondago workspaces#

List workspaces available to your account.

ondago workspaces

ondago config#

Read and change CLI defaults.

ondago config list
ondago config get tool
ondago config set tool codex
ondago config unset tool

See Configuration for settings and environment overrides.

ondago devices#

List registered devices, complete device verification, transfer workspace keys, or revoke a device.

ondago devices list
ondago devices prove VERIFICATION_CODE
ondago devices transfer-key REQUEST_CODE
ondago devices revoke DEVICE_ID

Use the codes requested by the registration flow. transfer-key sends encrypted workspace keys to a device that has already completed device verification. The old devices approve flow has been replaced. Revocation removes future access; it cannot erase copies already decrypted on a device.

ondago keys#

Manage this device’s encryption identity and workspace recovery.

ondago keys init
ondago keys show
ondago keys escrow
ondago keys recover
ondago keys provider -provider PROVIDER_ID -tool AGENT_ID

show prints the public key. escrow sets the workspace recovery passphrase; recover uses it to restore access. provider seals a provider credential to the workspace. Enter private values only through the prompts.

ondago handoff#

Ask a running agent to stop at a safe boundary and transfer the session. Run this from a second terminal.

ondago handoff -cwd ~/projects/example-app -session SESSION_ID -tool claude-code

Requires the supported handoff hooks: run ondago init-hooks first. Use -check to inspect hook readiness, -note "Next task" for continuation instructions, -no-cloud to store only, or -cancel to withdraw a pending request.

ondago harness#

Inspect, export, compare, and apply agent configuration such as instructions, tools, hooks, and permissions.

ondago harness detect --dir ~/projects/example-app
ondago harness capabilities
ondago harness export --source claude-code --dir ~/projects/example-app --out harness.asif
ondago harness diff --from harness.asif --to codex --dir ~/projects/example-app
ondago harness apply --from harness.asif --to codex --dir ~/projects/example-app

Exports are encrypted. Review the diff before applying. Conflicting permissions and unsupported hooks may require explicit decisions tied to the reviewed --expected revision. --yes is for reported unsupported non-guardrail items; it does not bypass every compatibility check. Use ondago harness secret set ENV_NAME to enter a secret privately.

ondago brain#

Search, preview and apply workspace and project knowledge for a coding agent.

ondago brain search -file brain.json -query "authentication tokens"
ondago brain preview -file brain.json -cwd ~/projects/example-app -tool codex
ondago brain apply -file brain.json -cwd ~/projects/example-app -tool codex -session SESSION_ID -revision REVIEWED_REVISION

Start with a downloaded Brain packet. Inspect the preview and use its revision when applying. update refreshes an applied packet; drift checks for local changes. -latest resolves published knowledge from your remote workspace instead of a file. Review instructions and adaptations before applying them. See Workspace knowledge (Brain) for inheritance and Projects and knowledge for project setup.

ondago fork#

Copy a local session up to one of your turns, keeping the original.

ondago fork SESSION_ID -before-line LINE_NUMBER -cwd ~/projects/example-app

The line number identifies the fork boundary in the native transcript. Use -json for structured results.

ondago live#

List currently served sessions across your machines.

ondago live

ondago send#

Send one message to a running session.

ondago send -session SESSION_ID -mode queue -wait "Run the tests and summarize the result."

Select by session ID/title, -room ROOM_ID, -machine MACHINE_ID, or -local. Modes are idle, queue, and steer, subject to the session’s capabilities. Use -image FILE for an attachment, -wait to wait for the conversation to show the message, and -json for automation. Text can also arrive on stdin. An exit code of 2 can mean delivery is unknown: inspect the conversation before retrying.

ondago machine#

Manage the persistent local service and remote access.

ondago machine status -json
ondago machine ensure
ondago machine sessions -json
ondago machine enable
ondago machine disable
ondago machine history allow claude-code
ondago machine stop

enable enables remote access; disable turns it off. history shows which agents' histories the service may read, and it reads none until you choose: history allow AGENT grants one, history revoke AGENT or history revoke all withdraws, and withdrawing an agent stops hosting its sessions. Desktop's Settings → Privacy records the same choice. ensure starts or connects to the service. stop ends hosting without terminating native agents. For a foreground local-only service use ondago machine run -foreground -local-only. repair -generation GENERATION repairs an idle legacy service only when its generation matches; use the generation reported by diagnostics.

ondago codex#

Open a native Codex terminal that Ondago can also control.

ondago codex -check
ondago codex -cwd ~/projects/example-app
ondago codex -cwd ~/projects/example-app -session SESSION_ID

ondago agent-host#

Advanced: expose local structured agent control over newline-delimited JSON packets.

ondago agent-host -tool codex -check
ondago agent-host -tool codex -new

This is a programmatic interface. Use serve for ordinary phone access.

ondago antigravity-connect#

View planned changes for ondago antigravity-connect. Availability depends on the released app and host versions.

ondago terminal#

Discover, capture, attach to, or launch terminal targets supported by this machine.

ondago terminal list
ondago terminal capture TARGET_ID
ondago terminal attach TARGET_ID
ondago terminal launch -cwd ~/projects/example-app -- COMMAND ARGUMENTS

providers lists control providers; window-list, attach-window, and resolve expose window-target operations where supported. Run the subcommand with -h for its platform-specific options.

ondago runs#

Inspect remote runs and why they ended.

ondago runs
ondago runs RUN_ID -watch
ondago runs RUN_ID -json

ondago limits#

Show usage and workspace allowances.

ondago limits
ondago limits -json

ondago show-patch#

Print the uncommitted changes captured in a bundle.

ondago show-patch BUNDLE_ID > changes.patch

ondago review#

Open a local review or manage review requests and discussion.

ondago review open -cwd ~/projects/example-app
ondago review list
ondago review resolve REVIEW_ID
ondago review resolve -thread THREAD_ID -bundle BUNDLE_ID

review open serves a local browser view without uploading the session. Keep the terminal running while reading it; close the server when finished. resolve -by BUNDLE_ID identifies the session that answered a review.

ondago init-hooks#

Install the agent hooks used to record permission prompts and support handoff.

ondago init-hooks
ondago init-hooks --remove

This adds Ondago’s hooks to Claude Code (~/.claude/settings.json), Codex, Copilot CLI and OpenCode. Reopen an existing agent session if integration setup asks you to.

ondago commands#

Install or remove Ondago commands in agent tools that have a command mechanism.

ondago commands install
ondago commands install -tool claude-code -project
ondago commands uninstall -tool claude-code -project

The default is user scope. -project uses the repository root; -bin PATH selects a binary; -force overwrites conflicting command files on installation. The installer prints the actual command syntax for each supported tool. Restart an open agent session to load new commands.

ondago delete#

Delete a stored bundle; the agent’s local session is untouched.

ondago delete BUNDLE_ID

Confirm only after checking the bundle ID. -yes skips confirmation.

ondago delete-session#

Permanently delete the agent’s own local session copy.

ondago delete-session SESSION_ID -cwd ~/projects/example-app

This is not recoverable. It differs from deleting a stored bundle. -yes skips confirmation.

ondago version#

Print the installed version and build variant.

ondago version

ondago uninstall#

View planned changes for ondago uninstall. Availability depends on the released app and host versions.

ondago update#

Check for, install, or pin a published CLI release.

ondago update -check
ondago update
ondago update -version X.Y.Z

-json prints structured results. A pinned version must already exist in the release channel.
